ISO 9001 - the international mark of quality

A recent survey we carried out on client satisfaction showed we had achieved a 94.8% satisfaction level. (Please see the article in the Winter 2009/10 edition of our Newsbrief at www.franklins-sols.co.uk/resources). Naturally we were delighted to see such a result and we have viewed it as an endorsement of our long term attention to delivery of client's requirements.

A business that does not meet its customers or clients requirements will be at risk. To help us manage this single most important objective we implemented and became accredited to ISO 9001 in 1996 and have evolved our quality management systems continually ever since.

ISO 9001:2008 is the standard that embodies an international consensus on good quality management practices and provides a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system, irrespective of the business sector, size of business or organisation. It applies to both the private and public sectors and provides a tried and tested framework for taking a systematic approach to managing the organization's processes so that they consistently deliver products or services that satisfy and indeed exceed their customers' or clients' expectations.

Part of the standard requires that we maintain a strict internal auditing process to ensure we continue to meet our objective of delivering to our clients' requirements. In addition the standard requires that we are externally audited by an independent assessment body to give objective confirmation that we meet our objectives and to achieve and maintain our accreditation.

An internationally recognised certificate of accreditation usefully serves as a business reference between us and our clients and potential clients. To find out more about ISO please see the ISO website at www.iso.org.
