The Franklins £50 Challenge

The Franklins £50 Challenge is our flagship community fundraising campaign, supporting local charities across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas.

Since launching in 2018, the Challenge has raised over £243,000 for local causes, bringing together businesses, community groups and individuals to create meaningful, lasting impact – all starting with just £50.

Franklins provides £50 seed funding to each participating team, who then have three months to turn it into as much as possible for one of our chosen charity partners. What follows is a campaign driven by creativity, teamwork and community spirit.

How the £50 Challenge works

Each year, Franklins invites local charities to apply to become official £50 Challenge charity partners. From these applications, we select a group of charities whose work supports people facing a wide range of challenges, from homelessness and food poverty to mental health issues, serious illness, disability and end-of-life care.

Once the charity partners are confirmed, teams made up of businesses, organisations and individuals sign up to take part and choose which of the selected charities they want to support.

Franklins supports the campaign by providing:

£50 seed funding
for every team

£50 Challenge

More than just fundraising

The Franklins £50 Challenge delivers benefits far beyond the final total raised.

For charities, it provides vital unrestricted funding, increased awareness and long-term community support.

For participating teams and businesses, it supports CSR objectives, strengthens team engagement, encourages creativity and opens up valuable networking opportunities.

For the wider community, it raises awareness of local causes and brings people together with a shared purpose.

This collective approach is what has helped the Challenge grow year on year.
