Due to growth within the business, we have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Family Law department on a permanent basis, at our Northampton office.

The Role

The LLP would be interested in hearing from applicants who have experience working in family law, or those who have worked in civil litigation and have a genuine desire to re-train in family law. The successful candidate will be supporting the Firm’s Family Law Partner and the wider Family team as and when required. The ideal candidate will have a good eye for detail and experience in working in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working within all areas of family law particularly divorce, financial issues following divorce / cohabitation and children issues
  • Liaising with clients and contacts such as the court, other solicitors, barristers, and other experts
  • Handling and collating confidential client information
  • Drafting court documents and correspondence
  • Use of the Firm’s office management system and the ability to become adept at other relevant systems, such as the court portal

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in family law – alternatively – experience in civil litigation and a desire to re-train in family law
  • A genuine passion for family law
  • Ability to provide outstanding client care, and to treat all clients kindly and considerately
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both internal and external communications
  • Ability to work to deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner
  • Ability to work in a friendly but fast paced and professional environment both individually and as part of a team
