What is the Franklins £50 Challenge?

The Franklins £50 Challenge sees teams in Milton Keynes, Northampton and the surrounding areas, competing against each other to raise as much money as possible for our local charity partners. We’ll give each team £50 and three months to find ways of increasing it as much as they can.

As the reputation of the Franklins £50 Challenge has grown, so has the demand to become a beneficiary. For our 2025 campaign, we selected a record 12 charity partners. 57 teams collectively raised over £59,000 from the campaign. We’re hoping to raise even more for 2026!

The success of the campaign relies very much on forming a strong partnership between Franklins, our charity partners and the teams who are supporting your charity.

Your charity needs to be based in and around Milton Keynes or Northampton (or do work in these areas) to be considered.

To apply, please complete the application form stating why you would like to be involved in this challenge. The deadline for entry is 3rd October 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions about the £50 Challenge

When will the £50 Challenge campaign run?

The £50 Challenge 2026 campaign will run from Feb 23rd – May 29th.

How many charity partners will you choose for the Franklins £50 Challenge 2026?

There are so many great charities and choosing is tough! When we first started running the campaign, we were working with three charities and this has continued to grow every year. We intend to choose 12 charity partners once again for 2026. To apply for consideration, please complete the charity application form.

Is the money raised split equally between the charities?

No. Each team chooses which of our charity partners they wish to support and all the proceeds raised by that team go to that charity.

Will my charity be responsible for recruiting our own teams?

Yes. Franklins will promote the campaign to our network and through social media and PR. However, alongside this our charity partners are expected to recruit teams through their own networks. We ask each charity partner to commit to signing up a minimum of five teams (there is no maximum). These will mostly be made up of businesses. However, they could also include community groups.
