We have an exciting opportunity for a Secretary to join our Private Client team on a permanent basis, in our Northampton office. The ideal candidate will be familiar with file management, client contact dictation and diary management.

The Role

The LLP would be interested in hearing from applicants who have worked ideally in a legal environment. The ideal candidate will be supporting our Private Client Solicitors. The position would suit someone who is approachable, flexible, confident, and accurate and has an eye for detail. Ideally the candidate should be used to dealing with a busy and varied workload with an ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • To take initial instructions from clients and open files through the Office Management System.
  • To deal with client cases from initial instruction to completion under supervision.
  • Liaise with client both in office meetings and in telephone discussions.
  • Receiving and issuing correspondence/mail from/to the client and third parties.
  • Checking and working in accordance with task list and diary reminders
  • Time recording all work undertaken.
  • Attending outside appointments (as required).
  • Reporting to and receiving and acting upon instruction from the head of department.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Adherence to Quality and Work Management Systems.
  • Flexibility in support of other members of staff.
  • To be able to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team in a friendly professional environment.
  • Presentable with excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner.
