The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Family Solicitor to join our Family department on a permanent basis. This role has the flexibility to be partially remote, however, you will need to be available to travel to our central Northampton office at least twice a week to see clients and liaise with your team.

The LLP would be interested in hearing from applicants who have worked in a Family Law department at a senior level and have upwards of 8 years PQE experience. The successful candidate should be competent in advising clients on matrimonial finances, child arrangements and maintenance issues as well as trusts of land disputes between unmarried couples.

You will be confident in managing a team and able to demonstrate your organisational skills and prioritisation of work. You will be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a team environment, being flexible, proactive, and using your initiative at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • To take instruction from clients.
  • To deal with clients’ cases from initial instruction to completion (managing a paralegal and secretary).
  • Liaise with client both in person or remote meetings and in telephone discussions.
  • Time recording all work undertaken.
  • Attending on outside appointments to include court hearings, client visits etc as required.
  • Reporting to the Equity Member with overall responsibility for this division.
  • Supporting the Firm with brand awareness activities, including networking, events and content for the website and social media channels.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8 Years + PQE.
  • Experience in advising high net worth clients.
  • Experience in trust disputes under TOLATA, child arrangements and maintenance issues.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work and manage a division, caseload and immediate team, working within tight deadlines, able to show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Adherence to quality and work management systems.
  • Achievement of targets.
  • The candidate must be able to work in an open plan, friendly but fast paced and professional environment.
  • Effective cross-selling of services
