Georgia Harris
Georgia qualified as a Solicitor in September 2024 (non-practicing) and later obtained her Practising Certificate in January 2025 after having completed her training contract at her previous law firm. Prior to her training contract, Georgia completed her LLB Law at the University of Bristol, graduating with a 2.1 and subsequently, completed her LPC at the University of Westminster, graduating with a Distinction.
After completing her training and prior to joining Franklins, Georgia also gained experience working as an HR Coordinator at a city law firm, giving her vital insight into employment law from the perspective of HR professional within a global company.
Georgia works closely with our Head of Employment, Sara Marshall, and the rest of the Employment team acting for both employers and employees on a range of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Georgia specialises in particular advising employers in respect of their employment contracts and staff handbooks, having particular regard to whether they are compliant with Section 1 Employment Rights Act 1996. Georgia understands the importance of employers complying with this requirement, particularly to allow the employer and employee understand each other’s obligations and expectations at the very start of their employment relationship and to ensure the employee is receiving key information which they are rightly entitled to.
Georgia further specialises in advising employers and employees in respect of grievance and disciplinary processes, as well as reviewing and updating such policies themselves.
Outside of work, Georgia enjoys spending her time cooking and trying out new restaurants in her local area.
